April

THURSDAY, APRIL 3

FOUR WOMAN SHOW AT THE PATCHOGUE THEATRE

The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts presents “Another Sublime Evening” with Four woman and their songs LIVE IN THE LOBBY. Thursday, April 3 at 7:00
Cathy Kreger and What It Iz headline the evening with Cathy Kreger's passionate lead vocals and solid acoustic guitar work.  The sound of Cathy Kreger and her band What it Iz mixes Blues and Jazz with spanking rhythms, superb vocals, and lush guitar work, turning folk, rock, blues, and pop influences into a lyrical and melodic style that is as passionate as it is polished.
23 year old Amanda Kaletsky of Connecticut is the first featured performer, who Relix Magazine said “has the voice of a pop star but the voice of a singer/songwriter.  Her infectious [music] finds a middle ground between New York’s homey downtown clubs and the polish of Top 40 radio”. The evening opens with the Songwriter Spotlight, two short sets from Long Island singer/songwriters.  Katie Pearlman, who normally plays drums and sings for the Katie Pearlman band makes her Lobby debut with a rare acoustic performance and Jessie Haynes returns for a solo acoustic performance of a medley of her songs.

Live in the Lobby is a series of concerts for small audiences held in the lobby of the historic Patchogue Theatre, usually on the first Thursday of every month. These concerts feature artists from the Long Island area playing a wide variety of mostly original music in an intimate and comfortable setting.  All ages are welcome.

MARCH FEATURE: The Katie Pearlman Band

About Katie Pearlman:
In 2008, Katie Pearlman performed 86 shows, 9 festivals, 2 radio performances, and released her first solo album which is now being played on the radio nationwide.

As the Herald so perfectly stated, "Singer/songwriter, Katie Pearlman, has been working overtime to get her eclectic sound heard by music fans all over the country."  With her unique setup and sound, she's grabbing people's attention everywhere she goes.

"Katie Pearlman is a multi-instrumentalist who primarily plays drums, but also is adept at guitar," states Bob Smith of Good Times Magazine.  "She sings with melodic soulful ease as she keeps the beat."  The Northeast In-tune Magazine stated, "Katie Pearlman could just as surely become the next Don Henley, as her natural vocal talent, united with her drumming expertise creates an unbridled fusion of rhythm and vocals."  Katie and her band have a unique setting when they perform...they put Katie and her drums up front and the rest of the band members around her.  The fans love it.

"After the release of her new album, Dreaming Again, she's soon to be known as the leader of one of the best indie/jam bands."  Bob Smith of Good Times Magazine said, "Your album is amazing. It’s so musical and well-recorded and well-sung and real. I’ve been with this mag since August 2004, and I have to tell you that it’s best locally produced CD I’ve ever heard."

One of Katie's highlights of her career was playing with Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead at Rhythm Fest in 2002, Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Ohio.  There is video footage of the entire set on youtube.
